Ghizzano's 2016 Nambrot is going to need at least a year or two in bottle to come into its own, but it is a pretty special wine. Powerful and dense, the 2016 possesses tremendous depth as well as personality. Dark fruit, grilled herbs, espresso, lavender, leather and licorice fill out the wine's frame nicely. Nambrot is 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot.
James Suckling - 94
Dark cherries, mulberry compote, soaked blueberries, dark plums and a touch of herbal liqueur. Full body, juicy tannins and acidity and a chewy, spicy finish. Shows such fruitiness and minerality at the same time. Drink in 2020. Made from organically grown grapes.
